Tucker Hockey is the Proud Event Sponsor of the

KIDS HOCKEY ADVANCEMENT SOCIETY  MISSION STATEMENT

To give all deserving children the chance to play organized hockey - the nation's greatest sport.

KIDS HOCKEY ADVANCEMENT SOCIETY  BACKGROUND

In 2007, Rex Tucker, of Tucker Hockey, realized that many children could not enjoy the benefits of organized hockey; simply because the costs to play hockey today are so high. As a result, Rex and other volunteers created a non-profit society to help deserving kids play hockey. The Kids Hockey Advancement Society was incorporated as an Alberta registered non-profit society on January 24, 2008.

The Society's initial fundraising efforts were channelled towards the charitable endeavours of the Kidsport Society of Calgary and The Calgary Flames Foundation for Life. The Society's first fundraising event was its 2008 Inaugural Golf Tournament. Tucker Hockey was the event's major sponsor, and Rex was the driving force behind its launch. The tournament raised $5,000 for Kidsport and $5,000 for The Calgary Flames Foundation for Life.

In 2009, funds raised from the second annual Golf Tournament, increased by 20%. Kidsport and The Calgary Flames Foundation for Life each received $6,000. Also in 2009, the Society added a No Limit Texas Hold'Em Poker Tournament as a second fundraiser. Seisware International Inc. was the event's major sponsor, and Murray Brack was the key volunteer behind the success of this event. The tournament raised $8,700 for Kidsport.

Through the volunteer work of the Kids Hockey Advancement Society, Kidsport will continue to receive funds in support of minor hockey. As well, the Kids Hockey Advancement Society will continue to seek new opportunities to fulfill its goal outlined in its mission statement.
