Why Tucker Hockey Knows Power Skating

Power Skating Calgary

At Tucker Hockey, we are experts on all aspects of power skating. We have been a market leader in the development of power skating in Calgary and Southern Alberta for the past 20 years and we are committed to providing unparalleled instruction at our Calgary power skating school.

Why choose Tucker Hockey’s power skating school?

Skating is to hockey what running is to soccer. Skating is the foundation upon which all other skills are built. It is the most important skill of ice hockey. The level of performance attained by a player in puck control, passing, shooting, and checking are directly related to one’s skating ability. The time spent improving a player’s skating is a worthwhile investment due to the carry-over value to all other aspects of the game. As each individual player attempts to play and excel at a higher level of hockey, skating becomes more and more important to his or her success on the ice.

Our training program contains not only the fundamentals that you need to know about power skating, but also innovative skating drills and enjoyable skating games, demonstrating that hockey is every bit about having fun as it is about competition. We teach the essentials of power skating at our camps to players as young as four and as senior as 75. We also cater to every skill level, whether you’re a tyke starting off in the exciting world of hockey or a semi-pro with some fine tuning and serious ambitions.

Having taught power skating to thousands of eager players in Calgary for the past 20 years, we have honed our teaching craft thanks to more than 10,000 hours of teaching experience. Also, when we say teach, we do not say this lightly that’s exactly what we mean. Even though we cover skating drills, there is a lot more to our power skating lessons. We develop the player from a budding youngster to a well-rounded athlete, coaching them psychologically as well as aesthetically.

The Tucker Hockey power skating mantra is that the player comes first. We are well versed in the customization of our training programs to the individual needs of each player, and we will continue to adopt this bespoke approach. Why? Because it works – many of our past students have grown to achieve great things on the ice, a testament to the effectiveness of our power skating lessons. Our testimonials page will show you just how much of an impact we have had on so many of our students.

Good hockey stance – strong edges – explosive starts – evasive skating – dynamic speed with and without the puck are just a few of the many components we teach in our standard minor power skating, elite power skating and customized skating programs.
