Tucker Hockey – On Ice Instructor Since 2022
Background in Hockey: Chad Labelle grew up playing hockey in Calgary AB and started his career off by playing for the AAA Northstars. From here, Chad got drafted to the Medicine Hat Tigers in the WHL and eventually went on to play for the team from 2011 to 2015. From there, Chad earned his scholarship from playing in the WHL and went off to the University of Prince Edward Island to play for the Men’s Varsity Hockey Team for 5 years until 2020. Chad has done a lot of volunteer coaching throughout his time in both Medicine Hat and Prince Edward Island with the community teams and has now been with Tucker Hockey as an Assistant and Head Coach since 2022.
Philosophy in Instructing: Chad believes that hockey should be fun and a place where kids and young adults can go to feel like they are a part of something. When instructing, Chad is very personable and adaptive to the kids he is coaching and understands that everyone learns differently and there are different methods of explaining what is trying to be taught to certain individuals. He likes to first understand their frustrations and the areas that need work – then assess and help them understand the fundamentals of what is needed to improve these areas in the simplest of terms. He believes that coaches need to be approachable, so the players feel comfortable going to them to ask for help or advice. This means creating an environment where the players know it is okay to fail or fall down because that is the only way we can improve and become better hockey players and people.

Tucker Hockey – On Ice Instructor Since 2022
Background in Hockey: Bobby grew up playing hockey in Calgary, Alberta, for the early part of his career. He played Bantam AAA for the Calgary Sabres (NE) for two years. After his second year Bantam, Bobby was selected to represent Calgary North at the Alberta Cup, where he was selected as assistant captain of the team. He was then Drafted to the Swift Current Broncos (WHL) in the 4th round, 81st overall. Bobby played two WHL exhibition games as a 15-year-old in his first training camp. The next season at age 15, Bobby played Midget AAA for the Calgary North Stars. The following season, he made the opening roster for the Swift Current Broncos of the WHL at age 16. However, was sent back in November to play for the Midget AAA North Stars for his 16-year-old season. That same year, Bobby was selected as 2nd Team All-Star for the Max Midget Tournament. For my 17, 18, and 19-year-old seasons, Bobby played with Swift Current Broncos of the WHL. In his 20-year-old season, Bobby played Jr. A for the Summerside Western Capitals. After his 20-year-old season, he earned a Full Varsity Scholarship for the University of Prince Edward Island (USPORTS). Over his four years playing hockey and earning my Bachelor of Environmental Science, was an All-Academic Canadian (3x).
Philosophy on Instructing: Over his time and experience of playing high-level hockey, Bobby has had many coaches and instructors. From this he has gained a great amount of knowledge from NHL-level coaches and players/teammates who currently play in the NHL. Bobby’s Philosophy is to use the knowledge he has gained to pass on to the next generation of Hockey Players. Furthermore, he is keen on always staying up to date on the current coaching methodologies along with using his past experience to provide the best possible approach to improve young player’s game in critical areas of skating, play-making, puck handling, and shooting.

- Rex was my Coach some 25/30 years ago in NEAA, around Bantam/Pee Wee/Midget. My own son was enrolled in the Tucker Program for the second season/time two years ago and I ran into Rex in the concourse of Southland Leisure, did not realize Rex Tucker is Tucker hockey. Rex put two and two together and the rest is history.
- Philosophy on Coaching: To push and test yourself, try new and different skills and things and always believe in what you put into it is what you get out! Seeing the kids progress however big or small and everything in between AND continue in wanting to play the great game of hockey.

Background in Hockey: Korwin has played hockey for 15+ years. He has played in the hockey school league for 5 years. 4 years with IHA and 1 year with the Notre Dame hounds. Played a year with the Richmond generals, a Jr team in the USPHAL in Virginia. Korwin is playing his 2023 / 2024 hockey season with USPHAL Decatur Blaze.
Philosophy on Instructing: If the task looks easy make it hard for your self by either pushing you self to your limits. Even if you think it is impossible, let me tell you that there is always a possible way to do it.
